Cabrits National Park & Old Fort Shirley Garrison

We hope YOU enjoy your visit as much as we did ours! Dominican flag flies over Cabrits National Park entrance.
Many years ago cannons kept watch over Prince Rupert Bay at Portsmouth. One can only imagine what happened historically here.
Restoration of this 17th century building is currently underway. No restoration yet for this two-story structure.
If you look closely at the greenish shell in the top left-hand corner you might be able to see a soldier crab's orange legs. Not so with the one at the middle right. Neither Elder Hadlock or Brother Alvarez could get a drink from the pump!Time for a Chap Stick fix and a look at an old powder magazine!Roots grow down from tree branches to establish new trees. Old Mother Nature is a very interesting lady!
